Treatments & Services

+ What does a Naturopathic Doctor do?

Naturopathic doctors are educated in accredited naturopathic medical colleges and are trained diagnosticians and also specialize in preventative care as well as treat acute and chronic disease. We believe in first do no harm, and rely on the least invasive and least toxic therapies to address the underlying causes of health issues, and not just the condition or symptom itself. By digging deeper and going to the root of the problem, with the ultimate end goal of naturopathic care to restore balance to the body and to encourage your body's own innate natural healing process. To restore and establish optimal health.

Naturopathic Medicine follows six underlying principles:

  1. First, Do No Harm: Use the most natural, least invasive and least toxic therapies.
  2. The Healing Power of Nature: Trust in the body's inherent wisdom to heal itself.
  3. Identify and Treat the Causes: Look beyond the symptoms to the underlying cause.
  4. Doctor as Teacher: Educate patients about the steps to achieving and maintaining health.

Payment & Insurance

+ Do you take health insurance?

No, we are unable to take health insurance. Insurance companies would restrict our approach for more comprehensive care and put limitations on certain procedures, tests and cost rates. Insurance companies would also limit visits to short, 5 to 10 minute appointments, and most importantly they do not cover services considered holistic or integrative. We have found that chronic health conditions require an in-depth history review, examination, evaluation and follow-up to be able to properly address and treat the root cause of said problems. By leaving out the insurance companies, we can provide you with whatever medical care we would deem necessary, based on our extensive medical backgrounds and certifications. Our office will provide you with the standardized form, “super bill” at your request to be given to the health insurance companies for you to submit yourself. Depending on the insurance company and your specific insurance plan, part of the services may be covered. Often this depends on your deductible and out of network coverage. With the ever changing state of health insurance, we can offer no guarantees of possible coverage.

+ How much is a visit?

We offer a variety of different visits with a variety of payment options from visit to visit, membership plans which is our most common, as well as sliding scale fees.

Our doctors want to ensure the best care for you and your family’s health and wellness at an affordable rate, and we want it to be accessible to everyone.

Please call the office for more details and information on pricing.

+ Is payment due at time of service?

Yes, full payment is due at the time of service. We accept cash, check, HSA, and most major credit cards.

However, if you need financial assistance, you can can apply for our sliding scale pricing.

+ How do you apply for financial assistance?

We feel strongly that everyone should have access to holistic and natural healthcare. If you are unable to afford our standard pricing please fill out the application for our sliding scale pricing made possible by the support of the Radiant Health non-profit. You can download those forms here.

Appointments

+ What is your cancelation or no-show policy?

We understand that there are times when you must miss an appointment due to emergencies or obligations for work or family. However, when you do not call to cancel an appointment, you may be preventing another patient from getting much needed treatment. Conversely, the situation may arise where another patient fails to cancel and we are unable to schedule you for a visit, due to a seemingly “full” appointment book. If an appointment is not cancelled at least 24 hours in advance you will be charged a twenty five dollar ($50) fee.

+ What to bring to your first visit?

It is recommended to take your recent Medical Records, Lab and/or Diagnostic Tests, Evaluations, and anything you think may be useful to provide you best care.

+ Why does my new patient/initial intake paperwork need to be in, in advance of my appointment?

Our doctors and medical team want to be as prepared as possible to treat you. Our paperwork is very extensive, and will require thought and time for you to fill it out thoroughly. Our doctors then review your information before your appointment.

+ How many visits are required?

Visits will vary based on need, diagnosis, and response to treatment. This is why we often recommend a membership program after the initial two visits. After the first two visits we will often have a good idea of the necessity of visits. With this model we can really impress Docere, Doctor as teacher.

+ Can I purchase supplements in your office?

Yes. We sell many different nutritional supplements. We have many years of experience with supplements and know their purity and effectiveness. We offer two options to obtain the recommended supplements. One, through the office we keep many supplements on hand as well as “special order” into the office or you can apply for “Fullscript” an easy online store to access your prescribed supplements and more! To make the supplements more affordable, for members we offer them at a cost below most markets and health food stores. Carrying supplements is also meant to be convenient for you so you do not have to spend the time and the energy searching through stores to find what you need. We encourage you, if you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact us!

+ Why do you require that I come in for an appointment to review lab results?

After examination we will often recommend tests to provide more information about your health. There is usually a great deal of information in these lab results. We desire to review these results with you to discuss diagnosis, treatments, and other follow-up tests. Getting to the root causes of chronic health conditions is challenging and we are committed to working with you to discover causes and solutions for your health concerns.
